Northwest Neighborhood Grant Program

The Baltimore Department of Planning (DOP) is excited to open the 2023 Northwest Neighborhood Grant Program. This grant, which is funded through state Pimlico Local Impact Aid, supports a wide variety of community-led projects, including operating funds or physical improvements that create meaningful, measurable changes in eligible areas in northwest Baltimore.  

Eligible nonprofit organizations providing activities and services in specific areas can apply for up to $30,000 for projects that help neighbors and community organizations advance priorities that benefit residents of all ages. Applications closed October 13, 2023.

 

Key Details

  • In 2023, the grant program is limited to projects in the area known as the One Mile Radius: Northwest Community Planning Forum; the Liberty-Wabash area; and the Coldspring-Newtown area. To be eligible, all activities and services must occur within these three areas of Northwest Baltimore. 

  • Projects must be completed within two years. 

  • Eligible organizations must have 501(c)3 tax-exempt status recognized by the IRS or be fiscally sponsored by such an organization; be a faith-based organization proposing a non-religious project that benefits the public; or be a public school proposing a project that benefits its students.
