HyeSook Chung is the President & CEO of the Baltimore Civic Fund. With 30 years of experience in the government and nonprofit sectors, HyeSook is a seasoned executive leader experienced in driving transformative solutions to address pressing systemic challenges. As president of the Civic Fund, an independent nonprofit that serves as the fiscal sponsor for the City of Baltimore, HyeSook manages fiscal sponsorship for more than 100 city programs that enhance the quality of life for residents.

Prior to her current role, she served as Deputy Mayor for Health and Human Services in Washington DC, where she worked to expand Medicaid, TANF, and CHIP.  HyeSook also previously served as the Executive Director of DC Action for Children, a child advocacy organization working to bring high-impact outcomes to DC children. In addition to her passion working on behalf of children and families, she is a data enthusiast whose innovative vision for data work for high-impact social outcomes has been highlighted on the list of the Rockefeller Foundation’s Top 100 Innovative NGOs, UNICEF, and SXSW EDU.
