Calvin Young
CHIEF OF STAFF, MAYOR, CITY OF BALTIMORE
Calvin Young serves as Chief of Staff to Baltimore Mayor Brandon M. Scott. In this role, Calvin leads the Mayor’s Office and manages the Mayor’s political and policy priorities, overseeing external communications, government relations, and community engagement. He directs cross-agency coordination and drives the implementation of key initiatives that support economic development, operational excellence, and inclusive growth across the city.
Calvin brings over 15 years of experience in investing, operations, and public service. Prior to joining the Mayor’s Office, Calvin co-founded Green Street Impact Partners, a private equity firm investing in companies across education, healthcare, technology, and business services. He previously held roles in both engineering and finance, including at Sikorsky Aircraft, United Technologies, and Harbor Bankshares, where he led small business financing efforts and launched a pre-seed fund for minority-led startups in collaboration with TEDCO.
Calvin holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from NYU and an Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School. He chairs East Baltimore Development, Inc., co-chaired the Greater Baltimore Committee’s 10-Year Regional Strategy, and serves on the Boards of Live Baltimore, Chesapeake Shakespeare Company, and Green Street Academy.
