Greg Bowden
CHIEF PHILANTHROPY OFFICER AND VICE PRESIDENT, UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND, BALTIMORE
A native of the Baltimore area, Greg Bowden arrived at the University of Baltimore, Maryland (UMB) with more than 25 years of experience in development and philanthropy. He currently serves as the Chief Philanthropy Officer and Vice President. He also previously served at the JHU Carey Business School, where he led the strategy and vision for all development and alumni relations activities, resulting in more than $60 million over seven years.
Before that, he was Senior Director for Development at JHU’s Berman Institute for Bioethics, where he managed fundraising efforts and served as part of the management team for the Johns Hopkins: Rising to the Challenge Campaign. In six years, Greg helped to raise almost $30 million.
Greg graduated from Penn State University with a Bachelor of Organizational Leadership. He also has a Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Management from JHU. He lives in Baltimore City with his wife and has three children.
